Overdue Magazine

01

Creative direction

One story, two media, one set of set-ups.

Scope

  • Creative direction
  • Photography
  • Editorial
  • Moving image

The editorial was planned so the film and the stills came out of the same set-ups rather than being shot as two jobs — same light, same styling run, same pace. A single chair was the only prop carried onto the beach, and it appears in both the frames and the film.

02

Location & atmosphere

Chalk cliffs, late light, one chair.

Shooting into the last hour of light meant the colour in the styling — coral, red, pinstripe, black — had to do the work the location wouldn't. The wide frames set the place before the portraits close in on it.

03

Editorial photography

Silk against wind and water.

05

Moving image

The editorial in motion.

Editorial film · Overdue Magazine

Cut from the same day, in the same order the looks were shot — the film reads as the editorial moving rather than a separate deliverable.
